Special surveillance device for the summer months on the beaches of Arinaga and Vargas

 

The security of the main bathing areas on the Arinaga coast will be reinforced during the summer months with the special surveillance device launched this Saturday by the Agüimes City Council. From June 15 to September 15, coinciding with the time of greatest influx of bathers, the security, rescue and lifeguard service will cover the areas of the coast most frequented by the population from Monday to Sunday, from 11:00 a.m. to 19:00 p.m. :XNUMX hours.

 

 

 

The supervised bathing areas will be Los Barquillos, La Planita, El Muelle, Soco Negro, Risco Verde and the Muelle Viejo in Arinaga. The service will also be extended to the beaches of Cabrón and Vargas. The team will be made up of eleven lifeguards and a boat skipper. They will have a zodiac for maritime rescue and the usual equipment to help bathers in case of any incident in the aquatic environment. They will also have crutches and amphibious chairs to help people with reduced mobility enjoy bathing. They will also be in charge of raising flags and ensuring compliance with the ordinances that regulate coexistence on the beaches of the municipality, in coordination with Civil Protection and the Agüimes Local Police.

 

 

 

The launch of the device, which took place this Saturday at the aid station located on Avenida de Los Pescadores, was attended by the mayor of Agüimes, Óscar Hernández, and the councilor for Beaches, Juani Martel. The Agüimes beach surveillance service was awarded in 2023 to the company Provital Emergencies Costa Canaria for a period of two years, extendable to four, and an award budget of 159.964,87 euros per year.
