Unelco Endesa has allocated an investment of 1,74 million euros to develop the comprehensive renovation project of the Arguineguín substation, located in the municipality of Mogán, which serves 6.500 subscribers in the south of Gran Canaria. The project to modernize and improve this electrical infrastructure has kept the exterior intact, with work focusing on the interior renovation of the facility.

The beneficiaries are the 6.500 subscribers to whom it supplies electricity in the towns of Arguineguín, Cornisa Sur, El Cercado, El Platero, El Salobre, Mogán, Patalavaca, Playa del Cura, Tauro, Puerto Rico, Santa Águeda and Taurito. The action that Unelco has been carrying out at the Arguineguín substation makes it one of the most modern in the Canary Islands. The project will also serve to increase security in the event of any incident.

The first phase of the project to remodel the substation located in the municipality of Mogán concluded in 2022, while the second part of the work began in March 2024 and is expected to conclude in the fourth quarter of this year. During the course of the project, detailed in numerous plans, the demolition of 19 conventional masonry positions has been carried out and the progressive replacement of more modern armored cell equipment with new equipment. This process has allowed us to achieve one of the company's priorities, that in the months in which the works have been carried out, the quality of service for the 6.500 users was maintained.
