The second session of the International Seminar on Sustainable Regions, held at the Agüimes Auditorium Theater, culminates by addressing the challenges of water efficiency

 

The International Seminar on Sustainable Regions addressed, in its second session this June 18, issues related to water efficiency, the other major axis in which these days are framed. Prominent experts have joined this meeting to promote a constructive and enriching exchange of policies and synergies that help promote sustainable water management. 

 

The event began formally, after the presentation of the journalist Laura Afonso, with the presentation "The Digital Reservoir 5.0. Digital transformation of EMASESA", presented by Mr. José Luis López López, Director of Information Systems at EMASESA. In his presentation he detailed the ambitious digitalization project that is revolutionizing the management of water resources at EMASESA, or how the implementation of advanced technologies is allowing more efficient management. efficient and sustainable water management, improving the capacity to respond to various situations and optimizing the use of available resources. The final objective of this project is to contribute to the conservation and improvement of water bodies, as well as the guarantee of supply.

 

Next, Mr. Alejandro Suaña González, Project Manager of AGUA-ACCIONA, took the floor to talk about the "Impact of modernization and pressure management in water networks". Suaña stressed the importance of modernizing hydraulic infrastructure and properly managing pressures in distribution networks. He presented practical cases and results obtained in various projects, demonstrating how these improvements not only optimize water supply, but also contribute to the reduction of losses and energy savings.

 

Committing to greater water efficiency

 

The presentations gave way to the round table moderated by the journalist Ms. Laura Afonso, where Mr. José Juan González, CEO of CANARAGUA, met; Ms. Mercedes Fernández-Couto, CEO of EMALSA; and the speakers Mr. José Luis López and Mr. Alejandro Suaña. During this space, professionals discussed the challenges and opportunities in the field of water efficiency.
