The Councilor for the Presidency, Tania Alonso, and the Councilor for Culture and Celebrations, Mencey Santana, presented this Tuesday on Las Marañuelas beach the program of events for the Carmen de Arguineguín Festival, which will take place from July 12 to 21 , and that of Playa de Mogán, which will take place from July 16 to August 4. The programming is aimed at the enjoyment of the whole family with traditional, cultural, recreational, sports and religious events.

Alonso pointed out that the celebrations have been planned “with the collaboration of the parishes, brotherhoods, various local groups and neighbors,” whom he thanked for their involvement. “Thanks to everyone's efforts, we have achieved a rich program of events for the whole family,” he emphasizes, highlighting events that both residents and visitors look forward to each year, such as the Pilgrimage-Offering to Our Lady of Carmen de Arguineguín, which will take place on Saturday, July 13, or the land and sea processions of the two sister images, that of Arguineguín and Playa de Mogán.

Regarding the celebrations in the seaside town of Arguineguín, the councilor clarified that the partial pedestrianization works on Miguel Marrero Rodríguez Street will end before they begin. Therefore, acts that usually take place or pass through this route will do so completely normally. Specifically, the Pilgrimage-Ofrenda, the land procession on the 16th and the accompaniment of the Virgen del Carmen to the dock for the maritime procession on July 21.

Alonso has also taken the opportunity to remind people interested in participating in the Pilgrimage-Ofrenda that they must do so “correctly dressed in traditional Canarian clothing.” “It is important to value our traditions, take care of them and set an example,” he said.

Other members of the Local Government have also attended the presentation of the event programs, such as the Councilor for Citizen Participation and Beautification, Josué Hernández, the Councilor for Youth, Emily Quintana, the Councilor for Beaches, Willy García and the Councilor for Cultural Heritage, Consuelo Diaz.
