He will be accompanied by some of the musicians with whom he has shared the stage throughout his career.
Last summer Arinaga Beach should have hosted the long-awaited concert by one of its most illustrious neighbors. Germán López had planned to go on stage accompanied by a good handful of musicians and singers with whom the timplist has been sharing performances in recent years. But the restrictions due to the pandemic prevented that show, called 'Arinaga in five strings', from being carried out.
The public that at that time was left with the regret of not being able to enjoy the concert will have a second chance this weekend. It will be on Saturday, at the Agüimes Auditorium Theater, starting at 19:30 p.m. Tickets are already sold out, so the venue, according to the permitted capacity, is more than guaranteed.
Germán López will be accompanied by one of his closest collaborators, the Cádiz guitarist Antonio Toledo, in a virtuoso interaction of timple and guitar with Atlantic roots and influences from multiple musical styles. As a duo they have achieved important successes in Portugal, the Czech Republic, Poland, Germany, Canada, the United States and China, where they have brought the warmth of their strings and the vertigo of their improvisations.
Along with them will be Abraham Ramos and Juan Sebastián Ramírez, timplist and guitarist respectively, who share with Germán López the same source of inspiration: the openness of the timple to new sounds such as jazz, pop, folk, world music or classical music, an experimental path started in Gran Canaria by the remembered José Antonio Ramos and which, after his death, has been successfully taken up by his most notable students.
Completing the lineup will also be two regular voices at Germán López's concerts: Yeray Rodríguez and Pedro Manuel Afonso. Ingenuity and lyricism, creativity and excellence, sympathy and nobility to culminate a musical proposal that will surely once again awaken the unanimous applause of the Agüimes audience.
