Starting this Tuesday, November 23, the deadline for submitting applications for subsidies from the Mogán City Council opens to cover transportation costs, housing or residence rentals, and technological, printing, and textbook materials for students in the municipality of Mogán. academic year 2021-2022. The City Council allocates 100.000 euros to these aids, which can be requested until January 10.

The subsidies for students from the Mogán City Council cover transportation costs as well as the rental of housing or residence for those students registered in Mogán for at least six months prior to the application, and who are pursuing post-compulsory studies, both face-to-face and online. But also, for the first time, those expenses derived from the purchase of technological material, textbooks and printing material for academic use as long as the subsidy for transportation, housing or residence rental is requested. In addition, they are compatible with others that have been received from other Public Administrations.
Those who wish to access the aid must be enrolled in the 2021/2022 academic year in first and second baccalaureate studies, intermediate and higher level training cycles, initial professional qualification programs, basic vocational training, university education and other higher studies. of the Spanish university system with official degrees or distance studies of any of the aforementioned.
Subsidies for transportation expenses will be granted taking into account the distance between the student's usual residence and the educational center. When the distance is less than 20 kilometers, beneficiaries may receive a minimum amount of 200 euros, when the center is between 20 and 40 kilometers, at least 300 euros will correspond, and if it is located more than 40 kilometers, at least 500 euros.
Likewise, for rent or residence payment expenses, students from Mogan may receive a minimum of 700 euros. All these amounts may be increased depending on the number of applications submitted. Finally, for expenses for the purchase of technological material, textbooks and printing material for academic use, two amounts are set. One of 400 euros for people who are studying online and one of 100 euros for those who do it in person, always in addition to transportation aid, housing or residence rental.
People interested in applying for these grants can do so until January 10. The application form and required documentation must be submitted, booking an appointment at www.mogan.es with the Citizen Services Office – in the facilities of Arguineguín or the center of Mogán – or through the municipal electronic headquarters.
