The Minister of Economic Development attends the eleventh edition of 'Bridal Collection, Gran Canaria Moda Cálida' which has the participation of eleven Canarian firms
The designer Oswaldo Machín, from Lanzarote, and the Gran Canaria Ogadenia Couture, have been in charge of inaugurating the eleventh edition of the 'Bridal Collection, Gran Canaria Moda Cálida' catwalk, dedicated to the bridal sector, first communion and other ceremonies, which this year has expanded the parade space, running from the Atrium of the Santa Catalina Hotel to the Miguel Martín-Fernández de la Torre hall, where the new lighting and decoration featuring tall plants, forming small “forests” along the entire route, have served as the perfect setting for its collections: Heritage 2025 and Reina de Reinas.

The event, an unmissable event and a benchmark for the sector on the Island, had a full house on this first day, held last night, including renowned influencers from the bridal sector, and with the presence of the Minister of Economic Development, Minerva Alonso, who recalled that this event claims “craftsmanship as a value of excellence and authenticity, in exclusive and close workshops where all the details are taken care of”, and for this “it puts unique pieces on the catwalk, authentic works of art created in the Canary Islands,” he stated.
There was also the Industry Councilor of the Lanzarote Council, Miguel Ángel Cabrera, who came to “warm up” Machín, whom he defined as “the great fashion reference on the island of Lanzarote.” In this sense, the counselor celebrated the possibility of "being able to participate in an event of an institution with more experience and weight in this sector thanks to the good harmony between both councils."

Regarding the catwalk, Oswaldo Machín today presented 'Heritage 2025', a bridal fashion collection with classic cuts for a woman looking for a sophisticated and personal look. A collection that unites avant-garde and tradition thanks to the use of recycled materials with Canarian craftsmanship, such as openwork and rosettes.
The brand also once again opts for the embellished corset to highlight the bust with high-volume skirts in 3D fabrics, light slip dresses cut on the bias, two-piece tailored suits without forgetting the firm's classics, the transparencies represented in dresses straight or lace shirts.
As for color, off-white continues to be the main color providing light, and tan tones have been incorporated for those simpler looks designed for weddings without so much protocol or civil affairs, which are embroidered with applications in pastel and crystal colors. And the main fabric is matte georgette crepe. For larger volume dresses, bridal satin and mikados are incorporated as well as 3D pleated organza fabrics.
As for the Ogadenia Couture 2025 bridal collection, it is a cocktail of ideas, images, feelings and experiences of the designer through her passion for horse riding, ballet, medicinal plants, painting and crafts blended with the Victorian era. The study of the fabrics of that time, its craftsmanship and the millinery of the time, have led it to create a magical and transformative mix that has given rise to a realistic collection adapted to our times.
