At around 18:30 p.m., the Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (CECOES) 1 1 2 of the Government of the Canary Islands received an alert reporting the discovery of a body floating in the coastal area of the Muelle del Castillo del Romeral, San Bartolome de Tirajana,
The 1 1 2 immediately activated the necessary emergency resources. Firefighters from the San Bartolomé de Tirajana Fire Fighting and Rescue Service rescued the body of a 76-year-old man and moved him to a safe area. SUC health personnel confirmed the death.
The National Police took charge of the body until the arrival of the judicial authority and carried out the corresponding proceedings.
