In the south of the island, hunting is prohibited in the Site of Scientific Interest of Juncalillo del Sur (San Bartolomé de Tirajana), and in the Special Natural Reserve of the Maspalomas Dunes, in the nearby Polvorín security zone. of Barranco Seco, between the boundary of Mesa, Lomo de los Galeones and Lomo de Santo.
In the rest of the island, it is prohibited in the Special Natural Reserve of Los Tilos de Moya (Moya), in the Comprehensive Natural Reserve of Barranco Oscuro (Moya and Valleseco), in La Laguna (Valleseco), in the Comprehensive Natural Reserve of Inagua, Ojeda and Pajonales (Village of San Nicolás, Mogán and Tejeda), in the Finca de Osorio (Teror), from Las Salinas de Arinaga to Bahía de Formas (Agüimes and Santa Lucía de Tirajana), in the Corral de Los Juncos ( Tejeda), in the Llanos de La Pez (Tejeda), in the Bandama Caldera (Santa Brígida).
In competitions where game is released, only game species present on the island may be used and it must be proven that they come from duly authorized farms. In the case of quail, in addition to the above, a certificate supported by a genetic analysis must be provided, stating that it is a common quail and has not been hybridized with Japanese quail.
