On June 26, the Civil Guard of Puerto Rico-Mogán arrested a 36-year-old person as the alleged perpetrator of two robberies with force committed in homes in the towns of Puerto Rico and Arguineguín, in which he could have obtained a loot of around 15.000 euros.
It so happens that, despite his youth, the detainee has accumulated 52 police records and 13 arrests only within the Civil Guard, making him one of the most active home thieves on the island of Gran Canaria, as he acts in all locations on the island.

The investigations began after receiving a first complaint at the Main Post of Puerto Rico-Mogán, where the injured party stated that on May 29, 2024, unknown persons had entered his home by forcing a window of the house at noon, at which time they left the home for just two hours, stealing jewelry valued at approximately 10.000 euros.
The second of the robberies was committed on June 19, 2024 around 19:00 p.m. In this case, when the injured party arrived at his home after returning from a family event, he found a man leaving his house carrying a backpack on his back. When he was surprised, the alleged perpetrator fled, jumping over the dividing wall with an attached home, managing to get out onto the street and access a vehicle that was parked nearby, all while being chased by the owner of the home. , which was about to catch him.

The Civil Guard of Puerto Rico immediately began the necessary steps to obtain the evidence aimed at clarifying the reported events, carrying out, among other steps, visual inspections of the homes, obtaining recordings made by video surveillance systems and taking statements. to witnesses, procedures that allowed the identification of the alleged perpetrator, who was known to the agents since he is a habitual criminal, who has specialized in committing forceful robberies in homes in practically all the municipalities of the island of Gran Canaria.
Development of the events and arrest of the alleged perpetrator
Once identified, the investigation group took steps to locate the habitual residence of the alleged perpetrator, obtaining information that he could be at the family home located in the town of El Tablero de Maspalomas, proceeding to establish a static surveillance device. to confirm said information.
During the afternoon of June 26, when the agents were in the vicinity of the home under surveillance, they observed the vehicle used regularly by the alleged perpetrator to travel during his criminal activity parked, so they proceeded to establish surveillance. discreet of the same, which gave a positive result when minutes later the alleged perpetrator arrived at the parked vehicle, and started walking through different streets of the town of El Tablero until he parked, at which point the Civil Guard proceeded to arrest him.
