"From the analysis of the supporting documentation of the annual accounts presented, it is deduced that they adequately reflect, in all their significant aspects, the financial and equity situation of the training at the end of the 2017 financial year." This is what is stated in the latest report of July 2024 from Nueva Canarias from the Court of Accounts and to which Maspalomas24H has accessed. There is one but: the expenses of the NC headquarters in San Bartolomé de Tirajana must be clarified.
The headquarters expenses cannot legally be paid by the City Council because that is a private activity. Another thing is that instead of being called the NC headquarters, it was called the headquarters of the NC municipal group; but that would not make sense because it already has municipal facilities. The headquarters must be paid for from membership or donor fees but not with official Tirajana money.
The High Audit Court points out that "those responsible for the training have provided due collaboration with the Court of Auditors during the audit process." Neighborhood Association (AV), linked to the PP, has passed all the controls and audits of the Court of Accounts without qualifications. AV presented the accounts given that it has its own legal identity. The Court of Accounts has not reviewed the accounts of the Canarista Block because that group was formally created in 2023 and the control period for that year has not yet arrived.
Regarding the NC numbers, the annual accounts presented include the activity of the central headquarters and the local headquarters of Santa Lucía and San Bartolomé de Tirajana. Regarding this last municipality, it is noted that "the rental contract for the local party headquarters in the town of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, dated January 1, 2017, has been signed by the municipal group in said local entity, which is considered irregular since it should have been signed by the political party".
The Nueva Canarias (NC) formation has submitted to the Court of Auditors within the established period the annual accounts for the 2017 financial year, which include the balance sheet as of December 31, the income statement and the report. The financial statements presented include the economic-financial activity from the representation of the political party in the mixed group of the Congress of Deputies and in the Senate and in the parliamentary group in the Parliament of the Canary Islands, as well as the activity of the political group in the Cabildo of Gran Canaria and the mixed groups of the Cabildo of Fuerteventura and Lanzarote.
