The Civil Guard of the Puerto de La Luz belonging to the Las Palmas Command, in coordination with the Organic Unit of the Judicial Police of the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Command, investigated two women and a man last June, all of them with domicile in Santa Cruz de Tenerife for the alleged commission of a continuous crime of theft and belonging to a criminal group for stealing clothing and valuable objects in different businesses in the shopping centers of the island of Gran Canaria.
The events occurred on April 27, when the Civil Guard of the Fiscal and Border Section of the Puerto de La Luz was carrying out a preventive control at one of the vehicle and passenger reception docks in the Puerto de la Luz, where They proceeded to identify three people who were preparing to embark for the island of Tenerife, using a rental vehicle.
During the identification process and as a result of the surveillance that the Civil Guard carries out in these port shipments, they were able to observe a large number of products in the luggage rack of the passenger car, clothing from well-known brands and accessories of various kinds with original labeling. different establishments.
It turns out that the occupants of the vehicle were not able to prove in any way the legitimate ownership of perfumery items, numerous clothes, sunglasses, and bags of recognized international brands, which is why the administrative intervention of the articles.
Immediately, the Civil Guard carried out an investigation in order to know the origin, carrying out checks in different establishments on the island of Gran Canaria, obtaining that the seized items had been stolen that same day in at least nine different establishments located in different geographical areas of the island, which include stores located in the Las Arenas Shopping Center (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria), Mesa y López shopping area (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria), Las Terrazas Shopping Center (Telde), among others.
The Civil Guard carried out the appropriate police investigations and analyzed the surveillance cameras of the establishments, which, after intense hours of viewing each of the premises and analyzing all the events that occurred, allowed documentary and visual accreditation, the involvement of the three people as perpetrators of a continuous crime of theft and membership in a criminal group by executing each of the related acts typical of this criminal typology.
Once the complaints were received, the Civil Guard was able to verify how the stolen objects reached 4.967 euros, and the Heritage Group of the Organic Unit of the Judicial Police of the Civil Guard Command of Santa Cruz de Tenerife proceeded to investigate the last June 19 and 20. The recovered objects were returned by the Civil Guard to their legitimate owners, leaving the police proceedings together with those investigated at the disposal of the corresponding court in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
