The great failure of the first year of the government pact between AV-PP and CC is that administrative artifact called the Commonwealth of the Medianías Region of Gran Canaria formed by San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Valsequillo de Gran Canaria, Tejeda, Vega de San Mateo and Villa de Santa Brígida, 34,46% of the surface of Gran Canaria. Nobody knows what is happening but the truth is that it was the instrument that the south of the island wanted to use to eliminate bureaucracy and in the middle of July 2024 it is a total paralysis. Given its usefulness, the best thing the south of the island can do is forget it. The Commonwealth of Medianías has not approved the administrative orders for the south of the island and will soon change its president because there will be a new mayor in San Mateo and the manager is an employee who receives orders.
San Bartolomé de Tirajana wanted to use this administrative vehicle to develop management tasks in order to overcome the spending ceiling but has not been able to. This base was to provide dependency services to seniors in the south of Gran Canaria or to promote tourism through the Las Palmas Chamber of Commerce. For now, nothing at all. The last work in Tirajana put out to tender by the Commonwealth of Medianías was in August 2023, the government group had barely come to power, it must have been a previous operation from the PSOE era, to fix a sports field in Fataga for 77.000 euros. Either it does not have personnel or the General State Intervention (IGAE) must be taking its time.
On the other hand, San Bartolomé de Tirajana will sign a new agreement with the tax body of the Cabildo of Gran Canaria so that it is the one that processes and collects the sanctioning fines for violators of municipal ordinances, which will not include the presence of individuals living in the area. tour.
The City Council of San Bartolomé de Tirajana seeks agility so that visitors respect and comply with the municipal ordinances aimed at regulating neighborhood coexistence and the use and enjoyment of public spaces, and with that objective it will sign a new agreement with the Cabildo of Gran Canaria to delegate to the autonomous body Valora Gestión Tributaria the powers of management and collection of administrative sanctions for non-compliance with the duties, prohibitions or limitations contained in said local regulations.
To the new encomienda are added the municipal ordinances of public passenger transport and also the one that regulates the keeping, custody, possession and protection of domestic animals and potentially dangerous animals, which are added to those that were previously contemplated, specifically the protection against noise pollution, which regulates the promotion of civic conduct and the protection of public spaces, advertising promotion, the Municipal Cleaning and Domestic Waste Collection Service, public Parks and Gardens and other free spaces landscaped; that of use, exploitation, enjoyment and conservation of the coastline, and that that regulates public use spaces for the installation of terraces.
