Two arrested for theft of sixteen photovoltaic panels in Ingenio

As a result of police collaboration, the El Goro Industrial Park vehicle in Telde was intercepted, where they were arrested with eight license plates inside the vehicle.

The Civil Guard of Gran Canaria, with the collaboration of the National Police, arrested two people, aged 8 and 39, “in flagrante” last morning on July 36, who had stolen sixteen photovoltaic panels from the Playa del Burrero photovoltaic park. on the run at the Arinaga Crossing to evade police action.

 

Once intercepted, 8 of the 16 stolen photovoltaic panels were recovered from inside the vehicle, initially charging them with the crime of robbery with force, two crimes against road safety for reckless driving and driving a vehicle with the license points removed, a crime of disobedience and a crime of attack on officers in addition to the four judicial injunctions that were filed against one of the detainees.

 

The events occurred on the night of July 07, when the Civil Guard of the Agüimes Main Post was carrying out preventive work to monitor citizen security, they observed a high-end vehicle, driving erraticly in addition to visually identifying the driver, a 36-year-old man who was being sought for having four judicial claims, one for imprisonment and three for search, detention and appearance.

 

Immediately, the Civil Guard stopped him in order to carry out the appropriate checks without success, since once the offenders detected the police presence, they ignored the instructions to stop the march, fleeing to avoid the action. police.

 

 

This gave rise to constant monitoring during the escape of the perpetrators who were heading through the Arinaga intersection, joining the highway towards Las Palmas, which is why, based on the principle of police collaboration, the support of the National Police was requested. of Telde and the Telde Local Police, giving a positive result since the perpetrators abandoned the vehicle in the Goro Industrial Park in Telde and fled on foot, both of whom were arrested within a few minutes as a result of the joint coordination of the three police forces. The appropriate checks were immediately carried out, and 8 large photovoltaic panels were found inside the vehicle. 

 

It so happens that a total of 16 panels valued at 2.200 euros were stolen that same morning from a solar energy park in the town of Burrero. Those that were initially recovered in the vehicle were returned to their rightful owner, leaving the investigation open to locate the remaining ones.

 

The detainees in conjunction with the police proceedings carried out were brought before the corresponding court acting as Guard, and the Aguimes Civil Guard also charged them with two other crimes of robbery with force in the things that were in the investigation phase for another robbery with force. force of fixed fencing of several companies valued at 2.000 euros and the theft of fuel from several trucks, damaging the tanks allegedly committed by the two detainees.
