The Agüimense neighborhood of La Banda will celebrate next week, from July 15 to 21, its festivities in honor of the Virgen del Carmen. Among the planned events, the unique procession will once again stand out that will transport the image of the patron saint from the church of Nuestra Señora del Buen Suceso, in Carrizal, to the other side of the Guayadeque ravine, in La Banda de Agüimes, an event that Over the years it has sown a feeling of brotherhood among the neighbors of both population centers.
The events will begin next Monday, July 15, with a first aid workshop, which will be taught at the neighborhood's Social Center starting at 18:00 p.m. On Thursday the 18th, starting at 19:00 p.m., a popular dance will be held in the square, enlivened by the music of the group Aimar, where you can taste churros with chocolate.
The most folkloric event will take place on Friday, July 19 at 19:00 p.m. with the celebration of the Night of Parrandas, which will feature performances by the groups Tacoremi and Risco Verde. At night, at 22:30 p.m., singer Yeray Socorro will take the stage, who will delight the audience with a repertoire of covers.
On Saturday the 20th, the main day of the events, starting at 11:00, a family foam party and an aquatic play center for the little ones in the house will take place in the square. In the afternoon, at 19:00 p.m., the traditional Eucharist will be celebrated in the Buen Suceso church in Carrizal and later the popular procession will take place. At 22:30 p.m. the music will return to the Plaza de La Banda with a festival starring the groups Guajara Show and Grupo Mambo. The next day, Sunday the 21st, the last of the musical events will be held starting at 13:00 p.m. with a performance by the group D-Music.
