The Ente Público Radiotelevisión Canaria and the Maspalomas Costa Canaria Soul Festival have agreed that the concerts will be recorded in Playa de San Agustín between July 19 and 21 and broadcast to the audience on TV Canaria. The agreement involves the creation of two special programs that will collect the best moments of the Maspalomas Costa Canaria Soul Festival, and which will be broadcast later on the Canary Television (RTVC) programming. The Maspalomas Costa Canaria Soul Festival is organized by the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council.
María Méndez, sole administrator of TV Canaria, pointed out that with this agreement “we give continuity to the presence of Televisión Canaria in this festival, with which we have been collaborating for some years now. In this case it will be with two programs, with a very careful production in which those who cannot go to San Agustín Beach this weekend to witness it live, which is the most recommended, can enjoy this cast at home. of such important artists who are going to be present in this edition.”
Mayor Marco Aurelio Pérez highlighted above all the location of this festival, “in a different place, on San Agustín Beach, which becomes the beach of soul. We are facing a cultural reference and it is celebrated on a time when everyone goes on vacation to our municipality, in search of our beaches and our cultural offer, which is complemented by the programming of this magnificent festival and its entire cast. of international stars.”
The director of the Maspalomas Costa Canaria Soul Festival, Dania Dévora, valued “the commitment” that the signing of this agreement with Canarian Television represents, especially because “it is a sign of continuity. "We are very happy that this house will once again cover the festival, for the seal of professionalism and for having the human team that will accompany us these days." Dévora also advised music and culture lovers that "they cannot miss this event, there are more than 30 hours of music, 15 international artists, but also top national and local artists."
The Maspalomas Costa Canaria Soul Festival consists of three days, two nights of music by the singer Wendy Moten or the artists Jonathan Ellison, Jerome Chism and Gerald Richardson, leaders of contemporary African-American music. On stage, these four privileged voices will be accompanied by the prestigious Memphis Music Hall of Fame Band, which will debut on the Gran Canaria coast, a formation that represents the sound of the great soul artists. In their performances on Friday and Saturday they will also feature three other artists: Shunta Mosby, Dani McGhee and Candy Fox. The concert program will be completed with two other national projects, the Gran Canarian City Dock Band and Martha High & Julián Maeso Organ Trío. The cast of artists is completed by the selectors Dj Vamp and Mr. Kangrejo, and of course, one more year we will have the privilege of having the usual master of ceremonies, the spectacular Rick Hutton, also accompanied in these tasks by the local announcer and artist Sergio Miró.
