In the early hours of the morning, a boat with migrants arrived on its own at Las Burras beach in Gran Canaria, triggering a significant deployment of health resources to care for the occupants of the boat.
The Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC), the Spanish Red Cross and Primary Care personnel have quickly intervened in the area to provide medical care to the migrants.
Among the actions carried out, the SUC helicopter has evacuated a man in critical condition to the Insular Hospital, while two other migrants have been transferred in serious condition to the Negrín Hospital to receive specialized care. The rest of the occupants of the boat have been evaluated and treated at the scene, receiving the necessary support.
The arrival of the boat highlights the continuing migration crisis in the region, and authorities have highlighted the importance of collaboration between different emergency services to provide a rapid and effective response in situations of this type.
