From July to October, the Civil Guard of the Las Palmas Command has intensified security in tourist areas through mixed patrols with the German Police and the Italian Carabinieri, within the Safe Tourism Plan promoted by the Secretary of State for Security. This initiative has been widely recognized by the hotel sector and tourists, consolidating a model of international cooperation that generates safer and more reliable environments for visitors.
In Vecindario (Gran Canaria), a member of the Italian Carabinieri is deployed at the Main Post from July 10 to August 31, collaborating closely with the Civil Guard and the Local Police. This collaboration includes joint patrols and the exchange of information to increase police presence and deter crime. During the second half of September and the first half of October, another component of the Carabinieri will join the Civil Guard in Vecindario to assist tourists in filing complaints and in proceedings related to accidents or crimes.
In Puerto Rico (Gran Canaria), the Civil Guard will work with the German Police during August, taking advantage of the high influx of tourists at that time. This cooperation seeks not only to increase security, but also to facilitate communication and assistance to German tourists in their own language, improving the processing of complaints and attention to crime victims. Furthermore, in Tías (Lanzarote), the German Police will collaborate in August with the local Civil Guard to offer similar support, ensuring that tourists receive efficient and effective help in situations of emergency or need.
