In autumn it will also hold this meeting in Barcelona and London and its traditional 'Grapes of Talent' in Gran Canaria
Talento Gran Canaria has 1.350 members and 130 local companies interested in attracting Canarian talent
The Gran Canaria Island Council, through the Gran Canaria Economic Promotion Society (SPEGC), today brought together more than 60 Canarian professionals in a new Afterwork event of the Talento Gran Canaria network managed by the entity.
These meetings allow islanders who live abroad to meet other Canarian professionals who, like them, are far from their homeland, but also to connect on a professional level. Exchanging personal and professional experiences unites them with other islanders in a relaxed and close atmosphere that is highly valued by those attending these meetings.
The network already has 1.350 members distributed in 58 countries, the majority (50,1%) of which live in national territory, followed by Germany and the United Kingdom. Most of them carry out their profession in the fields of engineering, architecture and project management; computing and data development; and marketing and communication.
The Cabildo launched this network in 2016 to connect islanders who reside and carry out their professional work outside the Islands. In recent years, the initiative has evolved and, in addition to currently hosting 1.350 members who add value to the rest of the network's professionals, it also has 130 local companies interested in attracting Canarian talent, through job offers to those that network members have direct access to.
The meeting held today in Madrid is the first organized by the Cabildo this year - last November it was held in London -, although before the end of 2024 two more will take place: one in Barcelona, scheduled for the month of October, and another in the British capital in November.
And in December, to close the year, the SPEGC will organize one of the most beloved meetings for Canary Islanders who live outside the islands, the 'Grapes of Talent' which, for years, has brought together professionals from the islands at the end of December. who live abroad and return home to celebrate the Christmas holidays.
