He pointed out that “we have more places and we are also the Canarian destination in which visitors stay the longest, with an annual average that is close to 13 days, which has a greater effect on the sustainability of the destination as it does not require more trips to reach the desired billing. Right now we have 86,62% of the hotel beds reserved for the months of July to September, with which we are confident of having a turnover during the summer period that exceeds that of the previous year. Without going any further, in the month of June we increased the number of hosted travelers by 6,5% compared to June 2023 and the total income of the sector increased by 18% compared to the same month of the previous year, with a turnover of 15.080.635,75, 19 euros. We work to increase this statistical data, understanding that it is the priority of the sector and a social demand, so that the productivity and profitability of this sector is no longer based exclusively on the number of visitors and, in this sense, we have achieved increase billing every year and, to be specific, by XNUMX% in the first half of this year compared to the previous one,” the director announced.
