In the ordinary session of the Mogán Plenary Session held this Friday, July 26, it was approved to award five new licenses for taxis adapted for people with reduced mobility (PMR) and another five conventional ones. The agreement has been approved unanimously by all groups
This agreement responds to the increase in users of the taxi service due to the demographic, hotel and commercial growth of the municipality. Mogán, which since 2007 had 173 licenses, will increase the number of these by 10 following a socioeconomic study commissioned by the City Council. 18 people showed up to the call, all meeting the requirements. The licenses were awarded to the applicants with the most seniority in the sector. The first five will be granted immediately and the other five in six months. The rest remain on the reserve list.
The agenda included the approval of the modification of the Municipal Transportation Regulation, adapting it to current legislation and the latest jurisprudence. Proposals from the Mogán Autotaxis Cooperative were attended to and some allegations were partially upheld. The approval had the votes of Together for Mogán, PSOE and NC-BC.
Members of the Autotaxis Cooperative, including its president, Eusebio Ramos, attended the plenary session. The Councilor for Traffic and Transportation thanked them for their collaboration and congratulated the new awardees present.
The Plenary authorized the special grouping of the Mogán City Council with other tourist municipalities to process the Proposal of Law on Tourist Municipalities of the Canary Islands. The regulations seek their own regulation to improve public services. The proposal was approved by Juntos Por Mogán and PSOE, with the abstention of NC-BC.
The Mogán City Council unanimously approved its adherence to the Health Promotion and Prevention Strategy of the National Health System. The deputy mayor, Tania Alonso, highlighted the benefits of this membership and the possibility of receiving subsidies. Mogán appointed a coordinator and created an intersectoral table to implement the interventions.
A budget modification of 1.226.012,75 euros was approved. Of this amount, 576.341,34 euros come from the Treasury Remainder and 649.671,41 euros from uncommitted credits. Items for expropriations and the completion of a parking building stand out. Other investments include equipment for Civil Protection, signage and urban planning procedures. Together for Mogán they voted in favor and PSOE and NC-BC abstained.
NC-BC presented a motion to install noise accessibility systems at traffic lights. The Councilor for Public Works, Ernesto Hernández, reported that the traffic lights already have this system, activated by Bluetooth. Together for Mogán voted against, while NC-BC and PSOE voted in favor.
