Firefighters and Civil Protection rescue an injured fisherman in Puerto de Mogán

This morning, at 06:47 a.m., a fisherman was moderately injured after suffering a fall in the tetrapod area on the Puerto de Mogán breakwater, municipality of Mogán.

The Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) has reported that the man, at the initial moment of assistance, presented moderate facial trauma and neck pain. He was transferred in a medical ambulance from the SUC to the Insular University Hospital of Gran Canaria.

The officers verified that the victim was in an area that was difficult for emergency resources to access. The firefighters of the Gran Canaria Emergency Consortium carried out a complicated rescue with the support of members of the Mogán Civil Protection.

Once rescued, the injured person was assisted by SUC personnel and transferred to the aforementioned hospital. The Local Police collaborated with the resources and instructed the corresponding procedures.
