Elmasa explained that the completion of these works represents a significant step towards sustainability and water security on the island. The Gran Tarajal EDAM now has a higher quality water supply after the process that adjusts the pH, calcium and alkalinity of the treated water to maintain an optimal balance. The objective has been to achieve a Langelier index close to zero and stability in contact with the atmosphere. For this, constant height calcite beds from the manufacturer have been used.
