A sailboat in Agüimes suffered a major leak, generating a rapid response from emergency services. The situation was reported through the official Twitter account of 112 Canarias, which warned about the emergency on the high seas.
A serious situation, since if it is not controlled, the water can flood the boat, compromise its buoyancy and endanger both the safety of the boat and its crew.
Given the seriousness of the event, the coordination center in Las Palmas immediately mobilized the Helimer 202 helicopter and the Salvamar Nunki rescue boat. Both resources arrived at the scene to assist the four crew members who were on board the sailboat.
Helimer 202 confirmed that the four crew members had managed to reach land, presenting symptoms of mild hypothermia. They were immediately attended to by the Agüimes Local Police, who guaranteed that they received the necessary care.
Subsequently, Salvamar Nunki reported that the sailboat had been stranded completely out of the water, marking the end of this incident without major consequences for the lives of the crew. This operation highlights the effectiveness and speed of rescue teams in maritime emergency situations.
