A shipment of counterfeits destined for sale in Maspalomas is intervened in Vecindario

This police intervention has been the result of the preventive surveillance carried out by the Neighborhood Civil Guard for the prevention of citizen security, being surprised with the counterfeits in the trunk of the vehicle in a police check.

Different identification badges of the affected brands were seized and were going to be installed on other counterfeit bags or clothing. It is estimated that the counterfeit material reaches 78.000 euros after a first assessment carried out by the Neighborhood Tax Patrol specialized in this type of forgeries.

 

On August 08, 2024, the Civil Guard in Gran Canaria investigated a 49-year-old person for the alleged responsibility of an alleged crime against industrial property, after being surprised at a police checkpoint with 58 bags of various sizes. , hand-held, small and medium-sized, and 34 badges from prestigious brands that sell this type of products on the market.

 

As a result of the preventive surveillance carried out by the Civil Guard of the Main Neighborhood Post, on August 08, an ordinary citizen security checkpoint was established in the Balos area, locating a vehicle in which the driver was identified and checked its load.

 

In this action, the Civil Guard located a large bag in the trunk of a vehicle, which, after carrying out the appropriate checks to determine its contents, several bags were located with a large number of products, apparently counterfeit, which were destined for the town of Maspalomas, where its owner stated that he was dedicated to selling said merchandise.

 

Immediately the Civil Guard carried out the appropriate actions to seize the counterfeit material in which there was a total of 58 bags of various sizes, handbags, small and medium sizes, and 34 badges from prestigious brands that market this type of products in the market. market.

 

All the counterfeit bags were initially valued and inspected by the Border Tax Patrol, estimating their value at around 78.000 euros, of which a sample of each seized merchandise has been sent for judicial appraisal.

 

The procedures carried out, together with the falsified material seized, have been left at the judicial disposal of the corresponding court of duty of those of San Bartolomé de Tirajana.
