A rockfall on the Los Cuchillos road, which connects Vecindario with Santa Lucía de Tirajana, caused a motorcycle accident in which two occupants were injured. The incident took place near the urban area of Santa Lucía, leaving those affected with minor injuries.
Members of the Local Police of Santa Lucía de Tirajana, the Civil Guard and an ambulance from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) quickly moved to the scene to attend to the emergency. Medical services provided assistance to the injured at the scene of the accident.
The landslide caused temporary traffic delays, although authorities report that the road has been completely reopened to traffic.
This incident highlights the need to take extreme caution when traveling through areas prone to landslides, especially on mountain roads such as Los Cuchillos. Local authorities urge drivers to remain alert and obey traffic signs to prevent future accidents on these roads.
