What plans does AXA have to cover the hotel sector in Maspalomas?

AXA has announced that the insurer's Canary Islands territorial management will have new management after the appointment of Álvaro Alzaga as regional head since September. One of Alzaga's objectives would be to grow in the hotel segment. The French insurer has a product called AXA XL to cover both in Spain and abroad. With the 'Hotel Protector' policy solution, if a guest falls ill during their stay, the coverage compensates the hotel group for the financial loss caused by the reduction or extension of the stay and reimburses the hotel group for the cost of medical services provided for the medical assistance service you have contracted.

In addition, the policy may also cover the cost incurred by the hotel group for the repatriation or reimbursement of travel costs of the other members of the reservation if the hotel group assumes these expenses. This is because hotels in the south of Gran Canaria are working hard to provide guests with an environment in which to take a break, and the assurance that they will be looked after should something go wrong. It consists of transferring some of the costs associated with financial risks so that hotels can continue to welcome guests.

Insurance for the tourism sector is designed especially for accommodation establishments such as hotels, rural houses, campsites or tourist apartments. This type of insurance usually includes coverage that ensures the basic guarantees of this type of establishment, along with others specifically designed for each business, in order to always protect your company, its employees and guests. There are policies for massive cancellation of beds or price fluctuations due to financial tensions at source.

Álvaro Alzaga, with a degree in Business Sciences, has a long career spanning more than 30 years at Grupo AXA, where until now he was Northern Territorial Director. He now takes the baton of the Territorial management of the Canary Islands after the decision of Paulino Marcos who has made the decision to undertake new professional challenges outside of AXA. For its part, the Central-Canary Islands territorial management is a management that brings together the business of Madrid, Castilla La Mancha, the Canary Islands and the provinces of Segovia, Ávila, Salamanca, Zamora and Valladolid with 35% of the total business in Spain. Luckily the Canary Islands are served from Madrid and not from Seville as was the case at the time of the Conquest and some companies in the sector continue to ignore the fact that there is more air connectivity with Madrid than with Andalusia for managers and large clients.
