The Civil Guard of Gran Canaria, within the framework of operation “ROLLRING”, on August 6, arrested a 41-year-old woman, with numerous records of crimes against property, as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of theft after stealing a white gold and diamond ring valued at 4.690 euros, which he sold in a used jewelry store.
The Civil Guard learned of the facts after receiving a complaint at the Puerto Rico-Mogán Main Post Office, where the injured party stated that on July 13, two women entered the jewelry store where she works and began to ask her about certain pieces. of jewelry which they had displayed for sale.
One of them asked the saleswoman to show her one of the pieces they had inside a display case, so the worker left the place where she served the women to go get the jewelry that was requested, leaving the women alone women, at which time one of them took the opportunity to take a white gold and diamond ring from among the samples that were on the table where they were served, hiding it in her hands and later between her legs, until finally hiding it in the pocket of his pants.
Once the worker returned, she continued showing the women the jewelry in which they showed interest, although they proceeded to get up without buying any product and left the store, at which point the worker noticed the lack of the aforementioned ring. .
Investigations collected
The agents in charge of the investigation immediately began to carry out the necessary steps to obtain the evidence aimed at clarifying the reported facts, obtaining security recordings made by video surveillance systems and taking statements from witnesses, which made it possible to identify to the alleged perpetrator and obtain information about the place where the stolen ring could be found.
Arrest of the alleged author
After collecting all the information and carrying out all the appropriate procedures, the agents proceeded to travel to an establishment for the sale of used jewelry located in the town of Telde, where the ring, which had been sold by the same company, could be recovered. person who had stolen it, given the fact that, despite its high value, he had barely obtained a profit of 600 euros by selling it by peso.
After having recovered the ring, efforts were made to locate the alleged perpetrator, who was contacted on different occasions, but her whereabouts were always excused or hidden, since the exact place where she was was unknown. resided.
For this reason, on August 6, information was obtained that the alleged author could be traveling by boat from the town of Arrecife to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, so an extensive device was established during the arrival of the vessel. , being located when she entered the passenger terminal, proceeding to her arrest, transfer to the Civil Guard offices in Mogán and later being brought to justice.
