The 'Connected Industry 4.0' project encourages companies to modernize their technologies and processes to adapt to new market demands
The Association of Businessmen of the Arinaga Industrial Zone (Aenaga) held this Wednesday in Agüimes an event to recognize companies that this last year have carried out good practices in technological innovation and digital transformation. Armarios Garoé, Lavandería Romeral, Collbaix Canarias, Germán Medina and Grupo Domingo Alonso, all installed in the Industrial Zone of Arinaga, collected the distinction from the hands of the acting president of Aenaga, Cornelio Suárez, and the councilor for Finance and Industry of the City Council of Agüimes, Raúl Martel, within the framework of the 'Connected Industry 4.0' project, financed by the Department of Tourism, Industry and Commerce of the Government of the Canary Islands and developed with the collaboration of the Agüimes City Council.
The project aims to identify, make visible and value the initiatives to modernize technology and processes in the companies installed in Arinaga, aimed at satisfying the new demands of an increasingly global, digital and hyperconnected market. It is about supporting these internal reorganization practices and promoting them as reference examples for other industries, highlighting their positive impact on the generation of economic activity, wealth and employment.
At the recognition ceremony, Sonia Ferrera, director of the consulting company Verta and member of the Canary Islands Technological Excellence Cluster, explained the details of the different award-winning projects. Valentín Brito, founding partner of Mosaeco, an innovation advisory company, outlined the different lines of public financing currently available to stimulate digital transformation business projects.
