More than 130 kilos of cherne, 70 kilos of potatoes, 70 of sweet potatoes and 35 liters of mojo, will form the traditional lunch for 500 people

 

Tunte will say goodbye to the patron saint festivities of San Bartolomé Tirajana this weekend with the most traditional events of the festivities in honor of the municipality's patron saint, San Bartolomé. Thus, today, Friday the 23rd, the traditional Bajada del Carbonero will be celebrated, starting from the Plaza del Carbonero in Las Lagunas to the Plaza de Santiago de Tunte, accompanied by the Agaete Band, an event that pays tribute to all our ancestors and preserves historical customs. . The night will continue with a dawn party by the Estrella Latina, Star Music and DJ orchestras to finish.  

 

Saturday the 24th will be the big day in honor of San Bartolomé that will begin at 05:00 with the flowered target that will announce the holiday through the streets of the capital of Tirajana with the help of the Agaete Band. Starting at 12:00 p.m., the solemn Eucharist will be celebrated, presided over by the parish priest of Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria de Ingenio, Jesús Vega Mesa, and will feature a sung mass offered by the Santa Lucía de Tira-Jana Cultural Association. After its completion, the procession will take place through the Tunte streets of the patron image accompanied by the mayor of the Tirajan municipality, Marco Aurelio Pérez and the Councilor for Events and Celebrations, Yilenia Vega, as well as the rest of the members of the municipal corporation . 

 

The celebration will continue with the traditional Canarian sancocho in the Plaza de Santiago, which will serve 133 kilos of cherne, 70 kilos of potatoes, 70 of sweet potatoes and 35 liters of mojo, distributing a total of 500 individual portions. After lunch, neighbors and visitors will be able to dance at the Solajero festival with Armonía Show, in an afternoon spent in water that is already known as the 'August Rains', where attendees cool off while dancing under the rain caused by the sprinklers. placed for the occasion. Starting at 22:30 p.m., the Great Verbena will be held by the D'Music group, the La Mekánika by Tamarindos orchestra and will end with music by DJs. 

 

The festivities will come to an end on Sunday the 25th with the Closing Gala that will be led by the Canarian singer-songwriter Pedro Manuel Afonso, who will put the finishing touch to the festivities.
