The Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) assisted a woman who was seriously injured in a traffic accident that occurred in the early morning of August 24, 2024, on the GC-1 highway, near Juan Grande, in San Bartolomé de Tirajana. The incident took place at 01:31 a.m. when the vehicle in which the victim was traveling overturned.
According to the initial assessment provided by the SUC, the woman had various serious traumas, for which she was transferred in a medical ambulance to the Insular University Hospital of Gran Canaria.
The Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Government of the Canary Islands received the alert of the accident and immediately activated the necessary emergency resources. Witnesses to the accident managed to free the occupant of the vehicle before the arrival of emergency services.
In addition to the two SUC ambulances, members of the Gran Canaria Emergency Consortium participated in the operation, who collaborated at the scene of the accident, and the Civil Guard, which was in charge of carrying out the corresponding report.
