The Tourism technician of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Clara León, and the Councilor for Tourism of the south of Gran Canaria, Yilenia Vega, have given the green light this August to the contract for the World Tourism Day events on September 27 in Annex II of Playa del Inglés for an amount of up to 91.219 euros and the possibility of renewal, although a very low profit margin for bidders who opt for that business.
In 2023 the event took place in November and the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council has the registration of the European Union brand 'Maspalomas Tourifest - Maspalomas Tourism Festival' and is part of the local tourism promotion events with the greatest impact and importance in the tourism promotion of the municipality as a tourist destination. The theme for 2024 will be world peace through tourism.
This 2024 is celebrated around World Tourism Day on September 27 with a set of activities especially musical with an offer of a set of diverse artistic performances (Canarian-traditional, classical, pop, modern,...), as well as an offer of services and complementary leisure with which to make known another active, gastronomic and festive leisure attraction in Maspalomas.
The venue for the Maspalomas Tourism Festival (Maspalomas Tourifest) will be on the sandy area of the northern area of the Annex II Shopping Center, Playa del Inglés with an approximate occupation of 2.388 m² in the public maritime-terrestrial domain outside the Special Natural Reserve. Maspalomas Dunes and in the paved area next to the Annex II Shopping Center, given the space suitable for a large influx of public, and the capacity for concentration of an important social movement of visitors and residents, in the vicinity of the Annex II Shopping Center of Playa del Inglés .
The execution period of the contract will be one month, starting from September 16 to October 15, 2024. The contract may be extendable for another year for the celebration of the Tourism Festival in 2025.
