The Maspalomas International Carnival already has a theme for its celebration in 2025. 'Amor a la Mejicana' has been the allegory chosen by 43,9% of the votes, after the online voting period organised by the Department of Tourism, Celebrations and Events of the San Bartolomé de Tirajana Town Hall closed. With 802 total votes received, it represents the highest participation in the last 6 years.
The proposal included two other themes, 'Atlantis' with 22,4% of the votes and 'The Jungle' with 33,7%. Residents and tourists have participated in the survey, promoting a participatory model, which, as highlighted by the Councillor for Tourism, Celebrations and Events, Yilenia Vega (CC), "highlights the international character of this event in which visitors and residents are involved, placing it as a reference",
The vote was carried out through a survey enabled on the website of maspalomas.com on August 20 until midnight on the 00th. To ensure that results were not duplicated, those participating in the vote had to have a valid email address and could change their choice as many times as they deemed necessary, with only the last choice recorded being valid.
'Amor a la Mejicana' promises to fill the streets of Maspalomas with vibrant colours, traditional music and a festive atmosphere that will transport all attendees to the heart of Mexico. The theme offers a wide range of possibilities for floats, costumes and comparsas, ensuring that the Maspalomas International Carnival 2025 will once again be an unforgettable event.
