It will be held next Friday, September 13, at 20:00 p.m., at the Maspalomas Cultural Center. Tickets are already sold out.
The Maspalomas Cultural Centre will host the second edition of the 'You Are My Hero Awards' gala on Friday 13 September, organised by the civic association of the same name, which supports and rewards the human, solidarity and professional values of relevant people, institutions and companies in the Canary Islands.
The organisers of this event, which was born on the island of Tenerife, where it celebrated its ninth edition last March, are now hosting the second gala of the Gran Canaria awards with the help of designer and set designer Willy Jorge.
The celebration of the gala, with all tickets already sold out, has the collaboration of the Department of Culture led by the second deputy mayor Elena Álamo Vega, and coordinated by the councilor delegate Esther Delgado.
The event will begin at 20:00 p.m. with the title 'A film gala' and will feature the musicians Arantza Navarro, As de Damas, and the duo Albert and Joan, and the comedian Eryera Ramírez, as guest artists.
The evening will be presented by Gracia Díaz (Antena 3), David García (Clave de Ja), Kiko Blanki and Dulce María Facundo (Radio Las Palmas) and the presenter Cathaysa Mogollón. The board of directors of 'You are my hero' has established a total of 21 awards in 13 pre-established categories for this edition.
The winners
The winners will be the murga Los Biznietos de Kika and the designer couple from Masbe Creaciones, with the Popular Carnival Award; the Military Emergency Unit (UME) and the Disa Foundation, in the Collective Solidarity Award; the comedian Manolo Vieira (Posthumous Award); the boxer Samuel Carmona (Sports Merit Award); the writer Fernando Rubio (Cultural Diffusion Award); the influencer Ana Pastor and the announcer and manager of Radio Top 2, Fran Guerra (Digital Diffusion Award on social networks); the singer Adán Robayna and the comedian Eryera Ramírez (Artistic Merit Award); the company Pastas La Isleña (Business Solidarity Award); the person in charge of the magical Parque de la Navidad de Keyla, in El Salobre, Miguel Sierra (Individual Solidarity Award); the actress Lili Quintana (Professional Career Award); the presenters Carmina Martínez, Marga de la Cueva and Iván Padrón (Professional Projection Award); the announcers Ángel Santana, Manolo Santana and Nery Pérez (Professional Merit Award) and the singing teacher and director of the Mlou Gospel Choir, María Dolores Jaria Acosta (Recognition Award).
The first Gran Canarian gala of these awards was also held in the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, specifically on Friday, October 13th of last year at the Hotel New Folías, in San Agustín, and also under the artistic and protocol direction of the designer Willy Jorge. In that edition named 'Ilusionante', awards were given -among others- to the career and business legacy of Domingo José Gordillo Cedrés as a pioneering businessman and a benchmark for the southern tourist region of Gran Canaria, and to the social and charitable carnival work of the mixed murga Los Lengüetudos de Vecindario (Santa Lucía de Tirajana),
