During the mass for the Day of the Pine, it was announced that there will be a descent of the Virgen del Pino in 2025 and that she will visit Vecindario, Telde and Las Palmas
It was the big news of the Day of the Pine in Gran Canaria: there will be a descent of the Virgin of the Pine in 2025 on the occasion of the Jacobean year. The news was given by the auxiliary bishop of the diocese of the Canary Islands, Cristobal Déniz, during the traditional mass of the Day of the Pine in the Basilica of Our Lady of the Pine in the Marian Villa of Teror.
A piece of news that took by surprise those present at the mass, those attending the military parade and procession held this Saturday in Teror and all those who followed the broadcast of the events on television, since it was news about which hardly any rumours had been heard.
The dates for this descent are estimated to be the last week of May and the first week of June, when the Virgen del Pino will stay in the capital's cathedral of Santa Ana and make two extraordinary visits to the Basilica of San Juan Bautista in Telde and to the parish of San Rafael Arcángel in Vecindario; so the residents of Santa Lucía de Tirajana will be able to enjoy the patron saint in their municipality and from San Bartolomé de Tirajana they will have the opportunity to "make a pilgrimage" to the Pino at a shorter distance.
