People from Las Palmas who choose to come to Maspalomas for the Maspalomas Carnival are paying prices from 110 euros for the Parade on Saturday 29 March with an open bar without white labels, food, civil liability and accident insurance and a bathroom on these platforms that once belonged to companies in the tomato or construction sector and have become businesses and where the residents of the south of the island are neither present nor are they expected.
In the island's capital, these leisure products are advertised saying that they are "approved, comply with the regulations for the parade required by the city council, the organization of carnivals and in force by law" although these regulations are likely to change in 2025 to reinforce the idea that it is not only a product for domestic tourism but also a promotional tool. In 2025 there will probably be no TVE presenters because the RTVE Corporation's code of conduct prevents news personnel from participating in this type of event.
In 2024, there were one hundred floats that travelled through the main streets and avenues of the tourist town of Playa del Inglés, flooding them with thousands of masks. The starting shot came from the mayor of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Marco Aurelio Pérez, together with Alejandro Marichal, first deputy mayor and the councillor for Celebrations and Events, Yilenia Vega. Once the parade of all the floats had finished, thousands of people packed the Yumbo Shopping Centre to continue with the party that was offered from the stage and the areas set aside for the popular beach bars.
