Overbooking Gran Canaria & Hosteltur Summit (OVB24), an initiative of Turismo de Gran Canaria to which Hosteltur has joined, celebrated its twelfth edition to offer the latest trends in tourism marketing, among which artificial intelligence stands out.

Gran Canaria has once again established itself as the epicentre of innovation in tourism marketing, with the celebration of the twelfth edition of Overbooking Gran Canaria & Hosteltur Summit (OVB24) this Thursday at the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium. This event brought together more than 650 people, including Antonio Morales, president of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, and Carlos Álamo, Minister of Tourism, together with a panel of renowned experts.

This initiative, promoted by Turismo de Gran Canaria and co-organised with Hosteltur, a leading sector media outlet, aims to establish itself as an unmissable event for professionals in the tourism, marketing and communication sector, not only in the Canary Islands, but also nationally and internationally. The event has allowed for the exchange of knowledge on current trends in the sector, such as artificial intelligence and the transformation of marketing.

OVB24 stood out for its success in terms of participation, both in person and online, with more than 533 professionals present at the event and 122 people following the streaming broadcast. Carlos Álamo, Councillor for Tourism of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, highlighted the growing importance of the summit, which has become a national benchmark in the field of tourism and communication.

The OVB24 programme included round tables and presentations that addressed the impact of artificial intelligence and virtual reality on tourism. Experts such as Ricardo Fernández from Destinia and Javier Escorihuela from Isostopy presented success stories on the use of these technologies, highlighting how they have revolutionised the way companies in the sector interact with consumers and improve their services.

The congress also featured an exhibition focused on technological services applied to tourism, with the participation of eight companies from the sector, showcasing the latest technological innovations. The day concluded with a speech by Jesús Plaza from Sony Pictures Spain, who highlighted how artificial intelligence is transforming audiovisual communication, making it clear that creativity will be the key to taking full advantage of its potential.
