The picturesque village of Cercado de Espino, located in the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana in Gran Canaria, is preparing for a series of vibrant celebrations in honour of the Holy Christ and the Virgin of Sorrows. The Fiestas 2024 with this big weekend and a programme full of activities that reflect the rich tradition and festive spirit of the community.
The name “Cercado de Espino” refers to the thorn fences that historically delimited fields, an important element in local agriculture. This picturesque village is known for its natural surroundings and rich cultural heritage, making it the perfect setting for these festivities.

Activity program:
• Friday 13 September: The Young Night will kick off the celebrations at 20:00 pm, with outstanding performances by Alberto Déniz, Kilian Viera and Paco Guedes.
• Saturday, September 14: The day begins with the Mass of the Holy Christ at midnight, followed by the Pilgrimage Offering in Honor of the Virgin of Sorrows and the Holy Christ. The offering will begin at 21:00 p.m. and will be followed by a party with Yeray Socorro.
• Sunday, September 15: The festivities conclude with a Solemn Eucharist and procession at 12:00 p.m., and a Solajera Dance at 14:00 p.m., with a performance by the Demelza and Raúl Duo.
