The check in favor of this organization was delivered this Thursday at Cruce de Arinaga by the Pérez Bolaños Group, promoter of the initiative.
On Thursday, Cáritas de Agüimes received a cheque worth 1.500 euros from the money raised through the sale of charity bracelets for La Vará del Pescao, held on 30 August in Arinaga as part of the Fiestas del Pino. The donation, made on the initiative of the supermarkets of the Pérez Bolaños Group, associated with SPAR Gran Canaria, is the result of the sale of 3.000 commemorative bracelets for this unique festival, one of the most popular and popular in the south-east of Gran Canaria.
The voucher was handed over at the SPAR La Paloma store located at Cruce de Arinaga. The mayor of Agüimes, Óscar Hernández, the councillor for Social Welfare, Eva López, the director of Human Resources and Finance of Pérez Bolaños, Idaira Pérez and a group of representatives of Cáritas in the municipality of Agüimes were present there. The mayor thanked Pérez Bolaños for the effort made once again this year with this solidarity initiative.
This is the fourth time that the Gran Canaria company has carried out this action. This year, the bracelets were sold in eight establishments located in the municipalities of Agüimes, Ingenio and Telde. The amount raised will go towards covering the basic food needs of the most vulnerable families in the municipality.
