Residents from all over the municipality have enjoyed the fun day organised in Arguineguín by the Mogán Town Hall

The Pérez Galdós square in the Arguineguín neighbourhood was the setting for the celebration of the International Day of Older Persons 2024, an event organised by the Mogán Town Hall through the area for the Elderly. More than 500 attendees participated in a day of laughter with Maestro Florido, followed by lunch and music with the Parranda La Polvajera and Nueva Imagen y Su Bandurria. The day began at 12:00 noon under the permanent tent in the square, where attendees were welcomed by the Councillor for the Elderly, Yaiza Llovell, and the staff of the area for the Elderly, who delighted those present with melon and watermelon gazpachos and an almogrote toast.

Following the humorous performance by Maestro Florido, the attendees enjoyed a lunch served by the Senior Citizens staff and the student-workers of the PFAE Vinos y Sala, with a menu that included several starters, ropa vieja as the main dish and a dessert. The afternoon continued with music and dancing by the Parranda La Polvajera and Nueva Imagen y Su Bandurria, which got a large part of those present, including members of the Local Government and Mayor Onalia Bueno, to participate in the fun. Bueno congratulated the attendees, wishing them good health and highlighting the work of the Senior Citizens area.

The City Council thanked the municipal services, the PFAE, the Local Police and Civil Protection for their collaboration. To facilitate assistance, the City Council offered free transport from the different neighbourhoods.
