The San Bartolomé de Tirajana Town Planning Department has granted the licence for the renovation of the Grupotel Jardín del Sol in Playa del Inglés, a project led by Acosta Matos Investments. This plan seeks to transform the current 2-key apartments into a 4-star hotel, contributing to the modernisation of the municipality's tourism sector and consolidating it as a benchmark for quality tourism in Gran Canaria.
The project, with an investment of 4,86 million euros, includes the renovation of the 108 accommodation units, common areas, swimming pools and sports areas, improving the competitiveness of Playa del Inglés. The work also includes new accessible and energy-efficient areas, increasing the hotel's capacity from 324 to 336 places, without compromising the quality of services.
Furthermore, the renovation is expected to create around 120 jobs in the construction and tourism sectors, and to encourage the growth of services with the renovation of commercial areas and the creation of spaces for events. This project, part of the City Council's strategy to renew the accommodation offer of Maspalomas Costa Canaria, reinforces the commitment to the tourist modernisation of the municipality.
