The raising of flags and the ringing of bells on Saturday, October 12th from 8:15 pm will kick off the San Rafael de Vecindario festivities, which this year will have as herald Cayi Suárez, a resident of the municipality and general secretary of Cáritas de Canarias. The herald will be accompanied musically by Paula Torres (cello), Zaida Jiménez (voice) and Juan Sebastián Ramírez on the guitar.
After the opening speech in the Plaza de San Rafael, at around 21.15:23.30 p.m., there will be the Taifa Dance organised by ACDR El Zaguán, with performances by the Imoque Folklore Group (Tenerife) and Parranda del Cura, and the 'La Revoliá' School of Garrote will also take part. At 1:XNUMX p.m. there will be a performance by the Qué Chimba group and at XNUMX p.m. the 'Leyenda Joven' group will perform.
On Sunday 13th October at 9am the programme will continue at the La Unión Sports Centre with the Santa Lucía Suresanta 3x3 Basketball Tournament. At 10am the XXXIII San Rafael Urban Mile will be held in the pedestrian zone of Avenida de Canarias. In the evening at 20.30pm there will be a La Trova concert in the Plaza de Santa Rafael.
The programme of events continues on Monday 14th and Tuesday 15th on Avenida de Canarias with children's activities. And on Wednesday with a dance for the elderly and chocolate and churros during the break in the Plaza de San Rafael. Street parties, tournaments, performances and many other events are scheduled until Saturday 26th October when the Romería de Santa Rafael will be held and on Sunday 27th with the livestock exhibition and in the afternoon the concert 'A nuestro ritmo', with the participation of Ginés Cedrés (Los Coquillos), Juan Santana (Sin Fundamento), SoulSanet, St. Pedro, Beatriz Pérez (Última Llave), Jonathan Gutierrez (Eclipse Reggae).
