The businessman from the tourism and agricultural sector of Gran Canaria, David Silva, is celebrating because in San Sebastián, the city from which he retired from the world of football, his wines are being presented on behalf of the island at the 26th edition of the San Sebastián Gastronomika-Euskadi Basque Country congress, the professional event held annually at the Kursaal Palace in the city of San Sebastián, attended by people linked to the catering industry in general, those responsible for purchasing in hotels and large stores, distributors and the national and international press.

The former Manchester City star is growing his business empire with two beach clubs, 125 apartments, a 22-room hotel, shares in a golf course, 88 holiday homes and a winery that exports wine to Germany, Italy, the UK and the US at a price of 170 euros a bottle.

It was Nueva Canarias that promoted Silva's investment in San Bartolomé de Tirajana under the brand of the Tamerán Winery. It is located in the Caldera de Tirajana where its vineyards form a natural setting with privileged views of the Santa Lucía palm grove and the summit of Gran Canaria. In San Sebastián, two Silva wines will be placed: white wines, Tamerán Verdello 2022 and Tamerán Malvasía Volcánica 2022, and a red wine, Tamerán Listán Negro. All of them from the Vinos de Gran Canaria Designation of Origin.

This winery, run by footballer David Silva, presented in 2021 its new winemaking project with varieties of Canarian grapes, such as Verdello, White Baboso, Black Vijariego, White Vijariego, Marmajuelo, Aromatic Malvasía and Volcanic Malvasía. The winery, which has a size of 1.400 square meters distributed over two floors, has achieved magnificent ratings in the prestigious Peñín Guide with its wines Tamerán Marmajuelo 2020, Tamerán Malvasía Volcánica 2020 and Tamerán Verdello 2020, having obtained 93 points. San Bartolomé de Tirajana has three wineries with the Gran Canaria designation of origin, and is also one of the main grape producers on the island.
