Patient Experience Institute 'IEXP'
San Roque University Hospitals has launched the first Patient Experience project in collaboration with the Patient Experience Institute (IEXP). This innovative approach is characterized by being multidisciplinary, integrating clinical, economic, psychological, sociological and people-centered innovation aspects.
The project, called ExperienciaSanRoque, is structured in short- and medium-term phases. For its implementation, a permanent work team has been created whose objective is to improve the patient experience through the development of real experience maps in each healthcare process. This organizational commitment covers everything from the General Management to all the services of the different centers of the healthcare group, including key areas such as medical management, patient care, quality, nursing, marketing, outpatient clinics and radiology, among others.
The main purpose of ExperienciaSanRoque is to put the patient and their recovery at the center of all healthcare processes. San Roque University Hospitals seeks to optimize each step of healthcare to improve patient recovery, guaranteeing an experience that prioritizes their well-being and quality of life.
The Patient Experience Institute (IEXP), founded in 2016, has worked in several countries such as Spain, the United Kingdom, Colombia and Brazil. It is recognized for its innovation in the incorporation of patients into the improvement of care processes, and the use of artificial intelligence to measure the impact of patient experience on health. In addition, it has developed more than 15 PREM questionnaires to evaluate patient experience. Among the hospitals with which it has collaborated are La Paz, Vall d'Hebron and Virgen del Rocío in the public sector, and San Roque and Air Liquide Hospitals in the private sector.
Evidence supports that implementing a process focused on patient experience not only improves the quality of care and the treatment received, but also has a positive impact on health outcomes and quality of life.
