Thanks to the generosity and solidarity of SPAR Gran Canaria customers
The SPAR Gran Canaria supermarket chain has delivered 5.431 kilos of solidarity merchandise to the Cáritas Diocesana de Canarias, collected during the 'Los Desayunos Solidarios' (Solidarity Breakfasts) campaign. The food will be used exclusively to provide breakfast, the most important meal of the day, to people who attend the three Cáritas soup kitchens on the island.
Thanks to the generosity and solidarity of SPAR Gran Canaria customers, breakfast products such as milk, juices, cereals, biscuits, cereals, cocoa powder, gofio and jam have been delivered.
José Miguel Gonzalo and Carmen Pulido, representatives of Rotary Club Las Palmas and Rotary Club Tafira, respectively, attended the presentation of more than 400 boxes of solidarity merchandise together with the general director of SPAR Gran Canaria, Dunia Pérez, and the deputy director of Cáritas Diocesana de Canarias, Gustavo Nuez García.
The solidarity food will facilitate access to the most important meal of the day, breakfast, for the more than 700 people who have come to the soup kitchens run by Caritas located in Escaleritas, Santo Domingo and San Pedro in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria this year.
The general manager of SPAR Gran Canaria highlighted the “good results of the campaign, as it has been possible to maintain a similar figure of goods collected in the campaign of last year, reaching again the figure of more than 5.000 kilos of food collected, which continues to demonstrate the solidarity awareness of the Canarian population”.
