Gara Hernandez Tuesday, October 15, 2024

The work being carried out on the Gran Canaria 1 motorway consists of laying and tensioning six conductors of approximately 300 metres each, corresponding to spans 5-6 of the line. Since this week, the Road Service of the Department of Public Works of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria has been carrying out cuts on the Gran Canaria 1 and Gran Canaria 3 motorways, at the Jinámar thermal power station and between Carrizal and the Arinaga industrial estate, due to the execution of the works to develop the Red Eléctrica transport network. The cuts on Gran Canaria 3 and Gran Canaria 1, at the Jinámar thermal power station, will take place respectively between 23.00:6.00 p.m. and 14:15 a.m. on Monday XNUMX October and Tuesday XNUMX October, establishing alternative routes for vehicles.

Red Eléctrica is currently removing debris resulting from the works to modify the power lines that crossed the highway overhead between the Jinámar thermal power plant and the El Sabinal 220 kV substation. In accordance with the electrical planning, Red Eléctrica completed the works to modify six existing lines in the vicinity of the Sabinal 220/66 kV substation last April. The purpose of these works was to improve the meshing of the transmission network in the area and eliminate the crossings of overhead lines above the GC-1 highway, in front of the Jinámar thermal power plant.

The work consisted of modifying the lines that linked different substations in the metropolitan area with the Jinámar thermal power station, connecting them with the 220/66 kV El Sabinal substation. Subsequently, the supports of the lines that were out of service were dismantled, whose debris is being removed with this action. Cuts between Carrizal and the Arinaga industrial estate on the nights of the 15th, 16th and 17th,

The traffic cuts in both directions between Carrizal de Ingenio and the Arinaga industrial estate, specifically between kilometre points 18 and 24, will take place between 23.00:6.00 p.m. and 15:16 a.m. on Tuesday 17, Wednesday 66 and Thursday XNUMX October, with alternative routes being established. Red Eléctrica is carrying out the construction of the XNUMX kV DC line between the Arinaga and El Escobar substations. This infrastructure, declared to be of general interest and included in the National Electrical Planning, is an essential infrastructure to reinforce the electricity transmission network and guarantee the security of the electricity supply in the southeast of Gran Canaria, as well as to enable the integration of renewable energies into the system.
