The RTVE Corporation has urged the regional management of the Canary Islands to take into account the aspects related to negotiations prohibited to specialized personnel regarding their presence at events, even if they are charitable, concerts, carnival galas located in areas such as the south of Gran Canaria. The company reminds that "RTVE rejects any form of corruption, bribery, embezzlement, bribery or extortion and declares itself against influencing the will of people outside the company to obtain some benefit through the use of unethical practices" and that "it will not allow other people or entities to use these practices with its employees." The CRTVE regulation establishes "the duty of all CRTVE workers as public employees to look after the general interests, subject to and in compliance with the Constitution and the rest of the legal system" and to act in accordance with "objectivity, integrity, neutrality, responsibility, impartiality, confidentiality, dedication to public service, transparency, exemplarity, austerity, accessibility, efficiency, honesty, promotion of the cultural and environmental environment, and respect for equality between women and men" in accordance with the Basic Statute of Public Employees.
The purpose of RTVE's Code of Ethics is to establish the policies, principles, objectives and values that, with absolute transparency, must govern the behaviour of all its directors and employees in their daily work, with regard to the relationships and interactions they maintain with all their interest groups, consolidating a culture and guidelines for responsible action that are shared, accepted and respected by all those to whom it applies. These are the employees themselves, customers, suppliers and external collaborators, shareholders, public and private institutions and society in general.
This Code is based on the definition of RTVE's Mission, Vision and Values, which it complements, and constitutes a guide to action to ensure "appropriate behaviour" in the professional performance of its employees. "RTVE does not tolerate any act of corruption, in any of its forms. Employees must avoid in any case the performance of unethical practices to obtain a benefit for the company and/or for themselves, especially when such practices constitute a crime. Criminal or administrative liability in matters of corruption affects not only the offending company and/or the natural person who committed it, but also RTVE," the document states.
