The chain reinforces its commitment to local products by selling the star fruit grown in Valleseco
SPAR supermarkets in Gran Canaria now have one of the most eagerly awaited local seasonal products for this autumn in their Fruit and Vegetable sections: the Reineta apple grown in Valleseco. In keeping with its clear commitment to quality local products, SPAR Gran Canaria has begun marketing this prized local fruit within the framework of the collaboration agreement signed last September for the third consecutive year between seven farmers from Valleseco and SPAR Gran Canaria.
SPAR Gran Canaria customers can now purchase the Valleseco reineta apple, which is characterised by its crunchy texture and sweet and sour flavour. It is an ideal fruit to use in baking recipes and to eat directly with the skin, due to its vitamin C and potassium content and its high concentration of pectin, a natural fibre.
The chain estimates that between 12 and 14 tonnes of Valleseco reineta apples will be sold during this campaign, and they are expected to be available in SPAR supermarkets in Gran Canaria until the end of the year.
