Il Divo congratulates Christmas to the tirajaneros from the South Park of Maspalomas

 
The mayor of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Concepción Narváez, and the musical group Il Divo have presented the 20 p.m. concert in the South Park with which the group and the municipality will begin Christmas.

The tenor group returns as part of the 'Christmas Tour & Greatest Hits' tour, in a concert that will include Christmas songs and their best-known songs. This is "the first concert after all these months of hiatus and it is an honor to start our tour, again, in this paradise that is Maspalomas", indicated the Spanish member of Il Divo, Carlos Marín. It is “a very special pleasure to begin our concerts on this earth,” he said.

Tonight's concert in the Parque Sur of Maspalomas will feature a mix of lyrical singing with themes from multiple genres such as Latin music, pop, boleros, folklore, tangos or sacred music, as well as adaptations of classic pieces such as the song Senza Catene, All By Myself, The Power of Love, Wicked Game (Melanconia), Without You, Time To Say Goodbye (My Way), Notte di Luce (Nights in White Satin).

The four-voice group has performed before personalities such as former United States presidents George Bush, Bill Clinton or Barack Obama, or the Queen of England with a "worldwide fame that represents that San Bartolomé de Tirajana is a meeting place of nationalities, of people from all over the world who come to enjoy, to feel, to live experiences,” said Mayor Concepción Narváez, who welcomed the group “to paradise,” as she called it.

“I am happy to present Il Divo, which is a world reference in a municipality that is also an international reference in terms of tourism,” Narváez celebrated.

This event that will bring together the international vocalists of Il Dicvo is part of the campaign 'Local businesses invite you to the Il Divo Christmas concert', which joins the Three Wise Men with the donation of toys for children with fewer resources .

This event "has generated economy and wealth in our municipality, and we estimate that the turnover is around more than 120.000 euros in sales in local commerce, without assessing the multiplier effects in restaurants and leisure," celebrated the first mayor. The objectives set by the City Council were the promotion of local commerce and, as a consequence, the revitalization of the business fabric. "And we have achieved it with the help of Il Divo" since "purchases in local businesses in immediately and with close collaboration with the merchants themselves,” he declared.

Il Divo is a group formed in 2004 by Urs Bühler, Sèbastien Izambard, Carlos Marín and David Miller, a pioneer in the classical crossover operatic pop genre and has sold more than 35 million albums in 30 different countries. In addition, they have been awarded 160 gold and platinum records.
