San Bartolomé de Tirajana declares official mourning for three days in respect for the victims of the recent DANA

The City Council of San Bartolomé de Tirajana has declared a period of official mourning following the human losses caused by the recent DANA that has affected various regions of the country. This decision is in line with the Decree issued today by the Government of Spain in the Official State Gazette

 

 

In light of the tragic deaths caused by the DANA that has recently hit several areas of the country, the City Council of San Bartolomé de Tirajana has decreed a three-day official period of mourning, which will run from 00:00 hours on Thursday, October 31 to 23:59 hours on Saturday, November 2.

 

Pursuant to the powers granted by Article 21 of Law 7/1985, of April 2, regulating the bases of the local government, and Royal Legislative Decree 781/1986, of April 18, the Mayor-President has issued this provision in respect and solidarity with the victims and their families.

 

Measures taken during official mourning

 

During the period of mourning, the City Council has decided to suspend all festive activities organised or in which it collaborates. In addition, flags will fly at half-mast in all municipal buildings and offices. These measures symbolise the deep respect and empathy of the council and the citizens towards the pain of those affected.

 

The Mayor-President, Marco Aurelio Pérez Sánchez, has expressed on behalf of San Bartolomé de Tirajana his most sincere solidarity with the families of the victims, while requesting the understanding and collaboration of all the residents of the municipality in respecting this official mourning.
